How do you feel about the word "NO"?

I remember being 2. 12. 17.
And no matter the age, I'd have the same reaction...
↳ frustration. Especially when there wasn't a reason or explanation.
Now that I'm older & wiser.
I know.
NO
↳ is a GIFT.
I've said no to prospects...who got frustrated:
↳ "You mean you won't work with me?!"
And then I'd explain why it's in both our best interests.
I've said NO to my kids:
↳ "Why not?!"
And then I'd explain my thought process, concerns, or boundaries.
I've even said NO to myself.
↳ "You'll sabotage your goal"
↳ "Creating a new habit is hard, isn't it?"
And I'd show myself compassion & give myself grace.
Prospects have also said no to me:
↳ "May I ask what leads you to say no at this time?" I'd ask, genuinely curious.
And usually, there'd be an understandable answer - one I wouldn't push on because I respect where people are at any given time.
I understand: when it's a fit, they'll commit.
Does the word NO keep me from moving forward?
NO.
❓What's your response to the word NO?
❓Do you say the word NO enough?
If you struggle, try this: think of a time when a NO turned out to be a blessing.
